Imagine what life would be like if you had an obnoxiously loud alarm clock, only there's no way to turn it off and it doesn't have a snooze button. That's what it's like to live with Shaman. Once he starts screaming, he never stops.
The following story is based on actual events.
Oddly enough, I never really thought about it this way, Asteroid is JUST like this...only he Meows. MEEEOOOOWWWWWWWW.
ReplyDeleteHe thinks 5am or any other time you want to sleep is the best time. His second favorite time? When you want to watch a show and the kids are asleep. MMMMEEEEEoooeeeoooooewwwwwwww.
It's tough to live with a loud animal, I sympathize.
Shaman starts screaming in the morning, and then he continues into the afternoon and well into the late hours of the evening. It doesn't seem to matter how much love and attention he gets, or how many treats and toys we give him. He just keeps going, and going, and going...in fact, he's screaming right now.
ReplyDeleteThe other birds are loud, too, but something about Shaman's pitch in particular is enough to make you want to puncture your own eardrums sometimes. With the others, it's mostly just happy chatter, whistling, cooing, or funny Fail Dove cackling. :)
He DOES stop at night, thankfully--you know, once we're all asleep and unconscious, because we certainly wouldn't want to actually be able to ENJOY the peace and quiet! :)
He's been especially vocal these past few weeks, hence the inspiration for this post. "Shut up, Shaman!" is perhaps the most commonly used phrase in this house. Haha!
Ah, 'talkative' animals...aren't they great? ;)
::THUMP::
ReplyDeleteFaildove for the win.
Sure, he's making alot of noise... but what is he SAYING? That's what I say to the cat all the time.
ReplyDeleteHa ha...his story is unusually loud sounding! I had one exactly like him once but he only screamed if and when you left the room out of his sight. You're right.....no matter what you do it doesn't "work".....you're a better woman than I am, ha lol
